Pink October is an annual communications campaign designed to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and raise funds for research.

Skiset and EDL SKI get involved!

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related death in women. That's why it's so important not to be afraid to talk about it and get informed. Adopting the right habits, such as screening, can save lives.

According to the French National Cancer Institute, over 55,000 new cases of breast cancer are detected in France every year. Since 1985, the month of October has been synonymous with commitment to the fight against breast cancer.

Testimonials

Capucine Blanchoz and Jean-Jacques Vaudey, Skiset Belle Plagne Managers

"The ordeal of breast cancer affected our family a few years ago. So we were immediately drawn to the project proposed by Skiset. This initiative complements those we've already put in place, such as donating clothes for the Printemps group's shopping spree and rounding up at the checkout, two solidarity initiatives in aid of the Gustave Roussi Institute. We feel useful by raising funds to help those going through this ordeal and to support research. It gives meaning to our work. "

Julien Gauthier, Skiset Development Director

"Solidarity is one of the values shared by mountain people. As mountain professionals and world leaders in ski and snowboard hire, SKISET shops are making their contribution to the fight against breast cancer. This collaboration between SKISET and ski manufacturer EDL SKI for Octobre rose is an extension of the support we already give to this cause via Odyssea at La Plagne. "

Vincent Zuppinger, art director of EDL SKI

"Like any graphic designer, the idea of creating a ski design for such a noble cause, while preserving the very essence of the brand's graphic line, could only be achieved by taking immense creative pleasure in it.

The pain and fear that affected my wife and our family more than five years ago, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, forced me to treat this subject with humility and respect. I hope I have succeeded in this mission. "

About

SKISET is a French company with 670 shops in all European ski resorts, including 370 in France.

Rental is a cost-effective way for skiers to ski every year on the latest models, maintained and tuned by qualified professionals.

Hiring equipment also helps to reduce the environmental impact of a pair of skis: in terms of the number of days of use, the impact of a pair of skis is 15 times less if they are hired.

All Skiset shops pay an ecocontribution on the purchase of rental equipment to finance equipment recycling, and participate in ski recycling by subscribing to the EPR scheme.
